Ultra-fine droplet-sized sprays for evaporative cooling, atomization, humidification, and wetting Stainless Steel Sintered Wire Mesh Filter Disc
Spray nozzles from Vortec provide ultra-fine droplet-sized sprays for evaporative cooling, atomization, humidification, and wetting. Superior to conventional hydraulic and piezoelectric nozzles, they produce spray patterns that can be widely diffused or directed.
The liquid stream is entrained by high velocity compressed air to create a range of micron-level spray droplets, resulting in greater surface coverage than conventional nozzles. With this more efficient use of the liquid, spray nozzles accelerate air-liquid interaction to give more effective cooling, humidifying, wetting, and dust control.
Droplet size and production is not dependent on liquid pressure, and the spray nozzles can produce finer drops than hydraulic nozzles. This more efficient use of the liquid accelerates air-liquid interaction to give more effective cooling while the smaller droplets expose more surface area, increasing evaporation rate. Consistent and effective cooling of surfaces reduces heat distortion of parts.
Three types of spray nozzles are available.
The Fogging Nozzle (Model 1703) is suitable for moisturizing, coating, evaporative cooling, and dust suppression and produces tight, directed spray with droplet sizes of 20 to 60 microns. It has a flow rate of zero to 30 gallons per hour and handles liquid viscosities up to 1100 cPs. The fogging mist extends to 30″ swath at 8′ from the nozzle.
The Humidifying Nozzle (Model 1707) produces 20 to 200 micron droplets with a flow rate of zero to 15 gpm and liquid viscosities up to 100 cPs. Suitable for mist coating, humidifying, moisturizing, evaporative cooling, and spray drying, its wide humidifying mist extends over 6′ at only 12″ from the nozzle.
The Atomizing Nozzle (Model 1713) has a tight, directed spray of 60 to 200 microns and a flow rate of zero to 30 gpm with liquid viscosities up to 1100 cPs. It is used for washing and applying lubrication with a mist that extends to 30″ swath at 8′ from the nozzle.
Spray nozzles eliminate damage to wood and other water sensitive surfaces due to low humidity; provide even coverage when applying coatings, rust inhibitors, lubricants, preservatives, etc. to parts, wood, rubber, plastic, and food; reduce noise levels; and speeds testing for humidity effects due to varying humidity levels. High-pressure liquid flows are not required and precision flow rates minimize usage of expensive coatings, preservatives, and rust inhibitors. Droplet size and production is not dependent on liquid pressure.
No electrical connection is required at the nozzle. Vortec spray nozzles use 12 scfm (340 slpm) of compressed air to atomize the liquid externally to minimize clogging. The spray nozzle tips are removable for easy cleaning and replacement and are interchangeable, providing flexibility between the types of nozzles.
